THEMIS HOMESDISCOVER SKYROS

Welcome to Skyros Island

Skyros island is situated in the center of the Aegean, the southernmost island of the Sporades group, set slightly apart from the rest. This island’s area is an estimated 210 km² and is largely mountainous featuring Mt Olympus in the wooded north and the barren Mt Kochylas (792 m) to the south whose silhouette dominates and enchants anyone visiting the central beach of Molos/Magazia. Historically, life in Skyros dates back to over 4000 years playing an important role in the Homerian epics as it is here where Odysseus found Achilles, hiding in the harem of King Lykomides and carried him off to fight the war in Troy.
